Hi, Friend!

I'm a coffee drinker, nap-taker, laundry-avoider, and lover of french fries just trying to find balance.

I was a night owl, devourer of pizza, and dessert baking fiend until my Hashimotos diagnosis. Since then, I've learned a whole new way of living that I'm honestly still getting the hang of.

I'm a CPA in Southern CA by day, and an internet researcher by night. After months and months of scouring the web, for everything from hormonal acne cures to natural cold remedies to paleo recipe hacks, I realized I have something to give: Insight, recipes, life hacks, tips, and all the results of figuring things out the hard way.

I'm doing what I can to help others along with their journey, be it autoimmune, paleo, gluten-free/dairy-free, or just a desire to be as healthy as possible.

My Hashimotos Story


I've always been a Daddy's girl.

My favorite childhood memories involve following him around on weekends and helping with whatever chores he was doing - washing windows, painting the house, planting flowers, anything. Even still, I cling to the firm belief that he will NEVER die (hush, you!).

In 2015, both of my parent's were diagnosed with auto-immune diseases that prevented them from eating gluten or dairy: Celiac disease for my Mom, and Hashimotos disease for my Dad. About a year later, the realization that both of these diseases were hereditary hit me hard - queue the blood tests!

As of Friday, May 20th 2016 at 10am, medical science officially confirmed - I'm a Daddy's girl.


I honestly lucked out. Thanks to the heads up from my parents' diagnosis, I was able to test for Hashimotos when I was only 27. I was showing light symptoms (adrenal fatigue/exhaustion, hormone imbalances, digestion issues, etc.) that were still vague and functional enough that most medical doctors would have written me off completely.

I've made a lot of progress since my diagnosis with diet, lifestyle, and supplementation overseen by my ND: Digestion is back on track, hormones have improved, and I'm learning my limits with adrenal fatigue.

While there is no medical "cure" for Hashimotos (like most autoimmune conditions), my goal is complete remission and avoiding prescription drugs on a long-term basis.

I'm also enormously blessed that 1) there was an Naturopathic Doctor (ND)/ natural medicine clinic in my city (, and 2) thyroid conditions are one of her specialties (looking at you, Dr. Colby!).


When I walked out of that doctors appointment, I quit gluten and dairy cold-turkey. I cleaned out my pantry that weekend, and haven't looked back since.

I spent the next year gluten and dairy-free (and on various natural supplements from my ND), aside from unintentional incidents and one or two slips before I realized just how imperative a 100% gluten-free, dairy-free diet were. 

At that point, my thyroid numbers were still barely budging, and I phased into a full Paleo diet before starting the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol. I spent a solid two months in the elimination phase, and then slowly began reintroducing foods.

I'm currently back on Paleo, 100% gluten and dairy free, refined/cane sugar free (honey and maple syrup only), avoiding eggs, and only occasionally eat nightshades or nuts.
